Define use and layout
Record vehicle movement, parking positions and essential pedestrian routes before setting out the surface.
✦ PAVING · LONDON & NEARBY
A driveway-paving enquiry starts with the existing surface, access and intended use. Send views of the whole area so preparation and the finish can be considered together.

A vehicle surface has different demands from a decorative garden path. Explain the vehicles using it, current defects and the proposed parking arrangement. Show the connection to the street, gates and building. A changed crossover or access position needs the relevant permission; a paving request does not authorise work outside the property. The design should preserve suitable routes for people rather than treating the entire frontage as one undifferentiated parking area.
The scope should define removal, load-appropriate preparation, edge restraints and the selected paving system. Surface-water arrangements must be reviewed before construction rather than added after a puddle appears. No drainage, bearing-capacity or completion confirm is asserted without a defined specification. Block pattern, levels and inspection covers should be agreed as part of the layout.
Record vehicle movement, parking positions and essential pedestrian routes before setting out the surface.
Assess existing ground and specify support and edge restraints appropriate to the proposed driveway system.
Identify water routes, thresholds and any permissions for altered access before installation is committed.
For driveway paving, provide the postcode, area measurements and photos of entrances and defects. Explain vehicle use, drains, access covers and the lawful delivery position. Identify any approved changes to the layout. The estimate should separate preparation, paving, edges and water-management work rather than assuming every frontage has identical requirements.
Dropped-kerb works, highway alterations, automated gates and specialist structural design are separate arrangements. Cleaning and re-sanding existing block paving do not automatically require a new driveway.
✦ BEFORE YOU BOOK
Yes. Product, pattern, base and edges are specified within Driveway Paving rather than a duplicate block-paving installation page.
Required permissions and the responsible works must be established first. This page does not authorise changes to the highway.
It needs assessment against the proposed use and system. An intact surface does not prove the underlying base is suitable.
The appropriate water-management arrangement depends on the site and relevant requirements. It must be assessed before construction.
Describe the defects and extent. A targeted repair may be appropriate, but the cause of movement should be investigated.
