Start with the job in front of you
A garden can need attention without needing a complete clearance. You might have grass spilling over its edges, weeds in a border or a hedge that needs shaping. Another garden may have brambles across the paths and months of unwanted growth. Our advice pages help you describe that difference before asking for work. They are a starting point for an enquiry, alongside current photographs and your postcode. We assess the condition and access before agreeing the tasks and expected hours, rather than deciding the work from the garden size alone.
Read about maintenance and clearance
The maintenance-or-clearance guide compares routine care with heavier overgrowth. Maintenance can bring mowing, strimming, edging, weeding, hedge trimming and shaping, suitable shrub pruning, deadheading and border tidying into one agreed visit. Clearance deals with overgrown grass, brambles and unwanted vegetation, including accessible beds, borders and paths. If you are unsure which fits, describe what has become difficult to use. A mixed garden can have an accessible lawn and a densely overgrown corner; show both rather than choosing a label before we have seen the condition.
Prepare photographs that explain the space
Our photographs guide explains how to show the whole garden, the work itself and the way in. A view of a hedge does not show whether equipment can reach it through the side passage. A picture of a leaf pile may not show the grass or vegetation underneath. Send what you can safely photograph, with a short explanation of anything that is hidden. Avoid including faces, private documents, keys or security details. You do not need to clear a route through dense growth just to create a better photograph.
Plan one-off care or regular visits
Some customers want a tidy after a busy spell; others want routine visits to keep the everyday work manageable. You can enquire about either. Leaf collection can be included alongside the agreed maintenance tasks, or you can use the leaf-clearance page for a more focused job. The seasonal-maintenance page brings spring, summer, autumn and winter priorities together without treating every garden as the same checklist. Tell us what needs attention now and whether you would like to discuss continued care. Weekend appointments are available where the schedule allows.
Understand what is separate
The garden brief should distinguish the work from any additional materials or specialist tasks. Lawn renovation, larger tree work, stump removal and rubble are assessed separately from routine maintenance. Planting is available, with the quotation stating whether plants, soil preparation, compost, mulch and initial watering are included. Supply and aftercare are agreed separately. Green-waste collection is also a separate cost. These distinctions help you describe the enquiry clearly: ask about the extra work when sending the pictures so it can be considered alongside the garden tasks.
What it costs
Garden maintenance is £65 per hour. One simple hourly rate. Minimum booking 1 hour. No VAT added. We confirm the hours before you book. Garden clearance is £75 per hour. Green waste is £50 per jumbo bag, charged separately from the hourly rate. All work is subject to assessment from photos or a visit. We agree the tasks and estimated time before booking and discuss additional work before it goes ahead. For the detail of a particular job, read its service page and send your current photographs.
Send an enquiry when you are ready
