Assess the base and height
Consider ground stability, water movement and ventilation, with proposed levels checked against buildings and neighbouring features.
✦ LANDSCAPING · LONDON & NEARBY
A decking quotation starts with the space, the intended use and the finish you prefer. Timber and composite options can be discussed alongside access and preparation.
Trading since March 2015 · Edgware based · Homes & businesses

Tell us what you want the deck to do and whether it replaces an existing structure or forms part of a wider garden change. Photograph the surrounding ground and any old concrete or level differences. Timber and composite are both materials we work with; the quotation should identify the selected option rather than leave the material open. Labour is charged separately from materials, and additional landscaping needs its own agreed scope.
The scope should distinguish foundation or support preparation, framing, boards, edging and any steps or guarding. Manufacturer installation guidance matters for product spacing and fixing choices. Raised structures may require permissions or specialist input. Rotten existing timber should be investigated rather than assuming that replacing the visible boards will resolve problems in the frame.
Consider ground stability, water movement and ventilation, with proposed levels checked against buildings and neighbouring features.
Agree supports, frame, fixing system and selected boards rather than treating the surface material as the complete installation.
Review cleaning, surface care and any necessary access restrictions. Decking requires attention, particularly where shade and moisture encourage slippery deposits.
Send your postcode, measurements and photos showing the proposed position and access route. Include door thresholds, inspection covers, slopes and any old deck. Explain whether you prefer timber or composite and the furniture or use planned. The quotation separates removal, substructure, boards, steps and disposal.
Balustrades, electrical lighting, major retaining works and structural calculations are separate unless expressly included. An elevated deck is not assumed acceptable without checking the site and relevant requirements.
✦ BEFORE YOU BOOK
Both can be discussed, subject to confirmed product and installation arrangements. Consider appearance, care and manufacturer guidance before choosing.
Only if the existing supporting structure is suitable. Hidden rot or inadequate support may require a broader replacement scope.
Yes. Cleaning and the care required by the selected material help maintain the surface; no maintenance-free claim is made.
It may be possible with an appropriate structural arrangement. Height, support, guarding and any required permissions need assessment.
They are included only where specified. Discuss the level transition and layout so step work can be coordinated with the deck.
