1. Separate leaf collection from heavier clearance
Look at the areas beneath the leaves. A lawn and patio that simply need leaf collection are different from a bed covered in brambles and dense unwanted growth. Photograph both the build-up and the surrounding garden. Leaf collection belongs in our maintenance task list; heavy build-ups and overgrown areas are assessed as garden clearance. You can explain which parts need attention first rather than asking for everything to be tackled at once.
2. Decide what should stay in the borders
Before a tidy-up, point out plants you want retained. Border tidying and suitable cutting back can be included, but the starting point is your planting and the condition it is in. A photograph of the whole bed is more useful than a close-up of one untidy corner alone. Add a note about shrubs you value, areas you want left alone and any planting work you would like discussed separately.
3. Put paths and access on the list
Include the garden paths, patio, drive and route through the gate when you describe the leaf work. Our gardening tools need no customer power or water; access to the garden is what we need. Tell us about narrow passages or a route through the house. If there is no rear entrance, say so when enquiring. That helps us assess the work from the information you send rather than discovering the access arrangements on arrival.
4. Agree the ordinary jobs together
Leaf collection can sit alongside mowing, edging, weeding, hedge trimming, suitable shrub pruning and other agreed maintenance tasks. You do not need a separate task rate for each of these routine jobs. Choose the priorities for the appointment and explain whether you want a one-off tidy or regular care. Weekend appointments can be requested, subject to availability. The work and expected hours are agreed before booking.
What it costs
Garden maintenance: 65 pounds per hour. No VAT added. Minimum booking 1 hour. The charging basis, hours and team size are confirmed in your written quotation.
Garden clearance: 75 pounds per hour. No VAT added. Minimum booking 1 hour. The charging basis, hours and team size are confirmed in your written quotation.
Green waste is £50 per jumbo bag, charged separately from the hourly rate. Other work and materials are assessed separately.
6. Send a useful autumn enquiry
Send your postcode, current photographs and the list of jobs in priority order. Show leaves on different surfaces and growth that makes any area difficult to reach. Tell us whether you want green-waste collection or the gathered material left at the property. Use the leaf-clearance page for a focused leaf job, or seasonal maintenance when the visit needs a mixture of autumn tasks. You can request a quote before deciding on the appointment.
