✦ LOOKDEVIS SERVICES

Plan a hedge cut around the hedge you have.

A hedge may need a light shape, a length brought back under control or attention alongside the lawn and borders. Those are different briefs. Before choosing a date, show us the hedge and explain what you want to change. We assess the planting and work before recommending the visit.

Start with the result you want

Say whether you want the outline tidied, growth kept within an existing boundary or an overgrown section assessed. Photograph the full length where you can, not only the part nearest the gate. Include shrubs or plants beside it that should remain untouched. The point is to agree the work you are buying. A hedge cut is easier to plan when its extent and your priorities are clear from the beginning.

Use the season as a discussion point

Our summer care can include hedge trimming, alongside mowing and deadheading. Seasonal visits also consider suitable pruning and cutting back, depending on the planting and conditions. This does not give every hedge the same cutting date. Send a recent photograph and describe the hedge if you know what it is. We can discuss the work and timing from that information or arrange a visit where assessment is needed.

Show access on both sides

Narrow passages, no rear entrance and dense growth can affect how garden work is approached. Explain where the hedge can be reached and whether access is through the house. Include anything beside it that you want protected. Ivy on a weak fence is one of the problems we assess before recommending work. Do not try to move an unstable fence or force your way through dense growth to take the pictures.

Combine routine jobs when it suits the garden

Hedge trimming and shaping are included in the full maintenance task list. You can agree them alongside mowing, strimming, edging, weeding, suitable shrub pruning, deadheading and border tidying. Gathering clippings and sweeping garden paths are included too. Ask for the tasks you need and put them in order of importance. The visit can be regular care or a one-off tidy rather than a separate booking for every ordinary task.

What it costs

Garden maintenance: 65 pounds per hour. No VAT added. Minimum booking 1 hour. The charging basis, hours and team size are confirmed in your written quotation.

Green waste is £50 per jumbo bag, charged separately from the hourly rate. Other work and materials are assessed separately.

Make the enquiry specific

Send your postcode, photographs and preferred dates, with a note about the shape or areas you want attention on. Weekend appointments are available where the schedule allows. Our gardening tools do not need power or water from you; tell us how to get into the garden. We agree the work and estimated time before booking, and any additional work is discussed before it goes ahead. Start with hedge trimming or the maintenance page.
