Seasonal Garden Maintenance in London

Gardens need different attention as the year changes. A seasonal visit focuses on current conditions and plant needs, whether you are preparing beds, gathering autumn leaves or reviewing what should wait until a better window.

Choose the jobs your garden needs

A calendar is useful, but it should not override the weather or the plants in your garden. Wet ground can limit access, drought changes watering priorities and flowering shrubs need appropriate timing. We discuss the condition shown rather than applying one checklist to every property. Seasonal maintenance can be a standalone visit or part of ongoing care, with tasks selected for the time available and the areas that matter most.

Spring, summer, autumn and winter bring different priorities. We select the work for the garden in front of us, keeping the plants you want to retain and concentrating on the agreed areas.

Autumn garden clean-up

Fallen leaves, untidy borders and growth that needs cutting back can be tackled in the same agreed visit. We collect leaves, tidy borders and carry out suitable cutting back. If leaf collection is the main job, use our leaf-clearance page to describe the areas involved. Dense overgrowth is assessed separately as clearance.

Winter garden maintenance

A winter visit can focus on gathering garden debris, sweeping paths and suitable pruning. Identify the shrubs you want kept and the areas you want usable. We assess the plants and conditions before agreeing the work, rather than cutting everything back because of the month on the calendar.

Spring garden clean-up

Spring priorities can include weeding, border preparation and the first mowing where suitable. Tell us which beds you want attention on and whether the grass needs an ordinary cut or a separate lawn-restoration assessment. Planting materials and new planting are agreed separately from routine tidying.

Summer garden care

Mowing, hedge trimming and deadheading can form part of summer maintenance. A regular visit can bring these routine jobs together; a one-off visit can concentrate on the areas that have fallen behind. We agree suitable pruning and hedge work from the condition of the planting.

What to send us

Review current conditions

Identify growth, fallen material and soil access rather than assuming the same seasonal workload across every London garden.

Choose appropriate tasks

Agree bed tidying, leaf collection, selected plant care or mowing where suitable, with heavier restoration assessed separately.

Set the next priorities

Discuss what should be deferred and what needs continued care. Plant purchases, materials and future visits require their own agreement.

What it costs

Send your postcode, current photographs and the dates you have in mind. Explain which areas need attention and what you want retained. £65 per hour. One simple hourly rate. Minimum booking 1 hour. No VAT added. We confirm the hours before you book. Subject to assessment from photos or a visit. Heavier overgrowth is assessed as garden clearance; materials and green-waste collection are separate.

What is separate

Tree surgery, large clearance, structural repairs and specialist lawn treatments have separate scopes. Seasonal maintenance does not include a blanket pesticide programme or automatic removal of all winter habitat.

✦ BEFORE YOU BOOK

Seasonal Garden Maintenance questions.

What can an autumn garden clean-up include?+

Leaf collection, border tidying and suitable cutting back can be included. Send photographs showing the leaf build-up and growth so we can distinguish maintenance from heavier clearance.

What do you do during winter garden maintenance?+

Garden debris, paths and suitable pruning can be the priorities. The plants and conditions are assessed before we agree the tasks.

Can spring garden clean-up include the first mowing?+

Yes, where suitable. Weeding and border preparation can also be agreed. Lawn renovation and planting materials are assessed separately.

What can summer garden care include?+

Mowing, hedge trimming and deadheading can be included in the agreed maintenance work. You can ask for regular care or a one-off visit.

Can I combine seasonal care with leaf clearance?+

Yes. Explain which areas have leaves and which need other routine work. We agree the tasks and estimated hours together.

Tell us about your seasonal garden maintenance job.
