Artificial grass cleaning: what is included?
Artificial grass cleaning starts with the condition of the lawn. An artificial lawn can look untidy because leaves and loose debris have collected on its surface and around the edges. The first step is to identify what is sitting on the grass and what has become caught beside the paving, fence or planted border. Show the whole lawn rather than only the cleanest or darkest patch. We agree the cleaning approach after assessing the surface, its condition and the work you want done.
The agreed visit can address leaves, loose garden debris and surface dirt, with attention to the edges included in the quotation. This is care of an existing artificial lawn. It is different from lifting it, changing the base or supplying replacement grass. The photographs below show leaf clearance on an artificial lawn; they illustrate that part of the work rather than a result promised for every cleaning enquiry.
Which method suits your lawn?
Artificial lawns differ in their condition, installation and previous care. Tell us when yours was laid if you know, and share any care instructions supplied with it. Photograph lifted edges, open joins and areas that hold water. These details help us decide what can sensibly be cleaned before recommending a method. We do not assume that the approach used on a neighbouring patio is suitable for the lawn.
You do not need to identify the material or diagnose the cause of a mark yourself. Describe what you have noticed and any previous attempts to clean it. If the lawn is damaged, a clean will not put a loose seam or an uneven base right. We separate the cleaning brief from those problems so you can decide what to arrange.
What should you photograph before a visit?
Send a wide view of the lawn, a closer picture of the debris or dirt and a view of the way into the garden. Include steps, narrow gates and any section reached through the house. Tell us whether pots, furniture or play equipment restrict the working space. Leave heavy items in place for the photographs so the access is represented accurately.
If the lawn meets a patio or path that also needs attention, show the join between the surfaces. A patio cleaning service is a separate scope: do not assume that jet wash cleaning of paving is suitable for the lawn. Water movement, loose edging and surrounding planting can affect the plan. For a pressure-washing visit, a working water connection and electrical socket are needed; tell us where they are. Requirements for a simple leaf-clearance visit are confirmed separately when the work is agreed.
What is separate from cleaning?
Repairs, replacement infill and re-seaming are separate unless your written quotation expressly includes them. A hollow in the lawn or persistent pooling may need assessment of the installation or ground beneath it. Please raise those concerns with the enquiry instead of expecting the cleaning appointment to resolve them.
If you are considering a replacement lawn, the artificial-grass landscaping page explains that service. If the main issue is seasonal leaf build-up, use the leaf-clearance page to describe the amount and location. Combining work can make sense, but the quotation should distinguish cleaning the lawn, collecting leaves and cleaning adjoining paving rather than treating them as one unspecified task.
What does the visit cost?
65 pounds per hour. No VAT added. Minimum booking 1 hour. The charging basis, hours and team size are confirmed in your written quotation.
The scope and estimated time are agreed after photographs or a visit. Surface area matters, but so do the amount of debris, the condition of the edges and access. Green waste is 50 pounds per jumbo bag, charged separately where collection is agreed. Ask which tasks and collection arrangements are included before accepting the quotation. Additional work is discussed before it is added.
