Pressure washing in Watford: which surfaces need attention?
A cleaning enquiry should identify the areas you want used again: the patio by the back door, a drive with dirty edges or a path between planting and a wall. Photograph each surface separately and say which matters most. We assess the material and condition before choosing the approach and agreeing the work.
For patio cleaning, include the edges, steps and any joints that have opened up. For driveway cleaning, show the vehicle area and where it meets the street or house. Two surfaces at the same property can need different preparation, so the quotation identifies what will be cleaned rather than applying one description to everything.
What helps us assess a drive or patio?
Send a close view showing the surface and a wider picture showing its position. Tell us about previous coatings, loose slabs and repairs you know of. A shadow or wet patch in a photograph may not explain the condition, so a short description of what you have noticed is useful alongside the images.
Patio pressure washing and driveway pressure washing concern the agreed cleaning. They do not include setting loose paving, replacing missing joints or changing the base unless those items are quoted separately. Block paving cleaning can bring a different discussion about re-sanding; ask about it before booking rather than assuming it is part of every wash.
Where are the water, power and access points?
You provide a working water connection and electrical socket for the pressure-washing visit. Tell us where those are in relation to the patio, path or drive. Show gates, steps and the narrowest section of the route, including access through the house where relevant. For a shared passage, explain what must remain available during the appointment.
If vehicles or furniture occupy the cleaning area, discuss when they can be moved and who will arrange it. Do not move heavy objects just to take pictures. We need to understand the starting conditions before agreeing the scope, expected hours and practical arrangements for the date.
How should run-off and existing drainage be discussed?
Show the direction a drive slopes, drains you know about and any pooling you have observed. Pressure washing services do not diagnose every drainage problem from photographs. An existing blockage or damaged drain may need a separate response before cleaning is arranged, and dirty water must not simply be directed towards whichever gully is closest.
Jet wash cleaning also produces debris that needs planning around the surface and site. The approach to collecting material and handling wash-water is assessed for the property. The official drainage link below identifies relevant responsibilities; it does not give permission to discharge cleaning water into a public drain or undertake work on the highway.
What is the price and what is extra?
65 pounds per hour. No VAT added. Minimum booking 1 hour. The charging basis, hours and team size are confirmed in your written quotation.
Re-sanding, joint repairs, sealing, coatings and specialist work are separate unless expressly included. We agree the surfaces and estimated time after photographs or a visit and discuss additional work before adding it. If you also want routine garden care, identify that as another part of the enquiry so the quotation can distinguish the cleaning from maintenance.
